Beaches
Wineglass Bay
One of the postcard beaches of the Freycinet Peninsula Wineglass Bay is only accessible by foot or boat. Park you car in the Wineglass Bay National Park parking area then take the walking track over the saddle (approx 1.5 hours). On this walk you should veer left at the lookout and take in some remarkable views of Wineglass Bay and beyond.
Continue on the track until you get to the sandy beach of Wineglass Bay. This is an ocean beach and the depth of the water drops away very quickly producing very powerful waves in certain conditions so care is needed when swimming. It is recommended you walk the length of the beach where you will find a very protected much shallower area where swimming is much safer.
